Adult-Junior Championship

Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, until the field is full (70 teams) or until the deadline of Wednesday, July 11th. The field is open to any junior golfer 10 years and older with a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or sibling as a partner. Adult siblings must be 24 or older to play. Juniors who are 9 and under will be put on a waiting list.

Eligibility: Entries are open to boys and girls who have not yet reached the September 1st following graduation from secondary school, or his/her 19th birthday, whichever shall come first. The age groups for this event are: 11-under, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18. An SDGA handicap is required for participation in this event, with at least 5 scores entered. SDGA memberships may be purchased from your home club.

Champions: Low scorer in the 16-18 division will be declared "SDGA Adult-Junior Champion." A player who is not yet 16 may declare to play in the 16-18 age division. Declaration must be made in "age group you are participating in."

Format: All age groups will be playing 18 holes of straight alternate shot.

Selection of Field: Entries will be limited for this event based on a first-come, first-serve basis until the field is full (70 teams).

Dress Code: Minimum SDGA requirements for boys include collared golf shirts, slacks, and Bermuda shorts. For girls this includes collared golf shirts (sleeveless is ok), shirts, slacks, skorts, and Bermuda shorts. Cutoffs, short shorts, halter tops, jeans and tank tops are unacceptable. Shirts and shoes required at all times.

Restrictions: Individual pull carts are permitted. No caddies are permitted for contestants. Family members are allowed on the course but may not caddy or offer advice. Family members and spectators must adhere to the Spectator Rules. These will be available at the golf course during the championships. If a player misses their tee time, player is disqualified. Player must notify committee or pro shop if the need to withdraw during the championship arises. In 2012, electronic measuring devices will ONLY be allowed in the Adult/Junior. However, NO electronic listening devices, or cell phones will be allowed during the Junior Championship. This does include spectators and may lead to the participant's disqualification.

Etiquette: Proper etiquette must be practiced at all times, or you may be subject to penalty or disqualification.
