Golfers of the Year

Six people have been honored as Golfers of the Year for their performances during the 2018 season.
Honored are:

Jesse Talcott, Sioux Falls, Male Golfer of the Year; Karissa Guthrie, Pierre, Female Golfer of the Year; Mike Brummer, Rapid City, Senior Male Golfer of the Year; Jackie Witlock, Aberdeen, Senior Female Golfer of the Year; Jack Lundin, Sioux Falls, Junior Male Golfer of the Year; and Alex Kandolin, Rapid City, Junior Female Golfer of the Year.

Here is a look at the 2018 SDGA Golfers of the Year:
 

Jesse Talcott, Sioux Falls, Male Golfer of the Year

• Won the Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Fox Run, finishing 2 under par
• 3rd Place at the Men’s Amateur Championship at Elmwood, finishing 8 under par
• Final 8 at the Men's Match Play
• Led SoDak Cup points list

Karissa Guthrie, Pierre, Female Golfer of the Year

• Won the Women’s Amateur Championship at Elmwood
• Won the Two-Woman Championship with partner Katie Bartlett

Mike Brummer, Rapid City, Senior Male Golfer of the Year

• Runner-up at the Men's Senior Championship
• Runner-up at the Senior Two-Man Championship with partner Tommy Reynolds
• Advanced to the round of 32 at the Men's Match Play Championship

Jackie Witlock, Aberdeen, Senior Female Golfer of the Year

• Won the Women’s Senior Championship.
• Won the Open Division of the Two-Woman Championship with partner Aubrey O'Connell

Jack Lundin, Sioux Falls, Junior Male Golfer of the Year

• Won the SDGA Junior Boys Championship
• 4th place at the Men’s Amateur Championship at Elmwood, including a 63 in round 1.
• 4th place at the Class AA Boys High School Championship

Alex Kandolin, Rapid City, Junior Female Golfer of the Year

• Won the SDGA Girls Junior Championship
• 6th place at the Women's Amateur Championship
• Runner-up at the Class A State High School Championship
• Points leader - West region - 16-18 Girls
