Becky (Larson) Pessolano dominated the South Dakota women’s golf scene as a young golfer. After notching consecutive SDGA Girl’s Junior Championships and South Dakota Class A Individual Championships in 1976, 1977, and 1978, Pessolano went on two win four Women’s Amateur Championships in 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981. She qualified for the 1982 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. After playing golf at Louisiana State University, Pessolano turned professional in 1983 and qualified for the LPGA Tour just two years later. Her LPGA Tour career lasted seven years. Pessolano was inducted into the Watertown High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.
